NHC Says Ernesto Now a Hurricane.

Not the prettiest hurricane.

Still right side loaded.
West side very wanting.
I don't see an eye...
and a Hurricane doesn't have to have an eye.
Yet NHC said they found winds at 500 meters.
That's about a third of a mile UP in the atmosphere.
Discussion was written defensively.
Crew reported 50% an eyewall.
Draw a line thru it and you'll see...
..very right side loaded today.

You may think I'm being picky.

When you look at Barometric Pressure which often drops IF the winds went or will go up.
When you read the pressure this way 991 MB the pressure stayed the same from 8 to 11 AM.
When you look at it this way... the pressure actually went up a bit.
29.26 MB at 8 AM
29.27 MB at 11 AM
Hmnnn...
And yet you're telling me it's 5 MPH stronger now than it was at 8 AM?
Generally it doesn't happen that way, but we've had hurricanes with less than picture perfect presentations.
Hey, forecast did verify !

Still forecast to be a Major.
Down the Road 115 MPH.
Bermuda still in the cross hairs.

I do believe once it gets past the negative dry/SAL conditions it is battling it will have a better chance to really look like a hurrcane and intensify. Storms that struggle do better once North of the Islands up in the Atlantic looking beautiful. Time will tell on Ernesto, but he could look beautiful one day. Doesn't look like a hurricane to me tho splitting hairs as I could say it's on the edge ... the borderline but just not there yet to me. We'll see. NHC makes the call so Ernesto is a Cane.

Orange is dry air... has to get North of it.
It's circular...

On the far side of the world.
There's a wave.
Not a lot of model support ...
But looks good.

See?

Wild Card to watch...
...off Carolina coast.
Stormy weather lingers.
Purple Splotches on NOAA site.

As I live in the Carolinas been watching it.
Kicking up weather, now in the Atlantic.
Wave behind Ernesto low chances.
Higher chances for African Wave.

You can see the general spin E of FL/GA
And our Hurricane.........
Old frontal boundary...

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

Ps. Listen I'm not here to lie to you but to give you my thoughts.
On rare occasions I disagree with NHC.
In the end it'll be a Hurricane I'm sure.
Maybe by 2 PM??
Whatever.

Ernesto name been around a long time.
We will see what happens once it gets past the SAL.
