Debby Exits and Ernesto May Be Forming in the Atlantic 60% overripe Orange ...Fish Storm or Landfall Hurricane?
Zero in the 2 day.... 60 in the 7 day.
That Wave has a look.
Like an iconic hurricane to come...
...was kick ass over Africa.
This is compelling.
Congregation of Convection there.
Has a look....
Top right first enters Islands..
...then off Cape Hatteras
then off Cape Cod
Then Off to Cape Breton Canada.
Has a things for Capes...
Honestly it's way too far for us to go down the rabbit hole trying to pinpoint the exact track of a system that is forecast to have good chances to form, still this is the general idea. A weaker system could go into the GOM and a stronger system might be a Fish Storm with only Bermuda needing to watch carefully. Well a Fish storm necessitates those who deal with the shipping lanes and ships need to pay strict attention!!! Someone who worked with ships at sea ..... never let's me forget that!
As for Debby, she's gone officially as the NHC has handed her off to the WPC (Weather Prediction Center) and the NWS is tracking it's remnant, troubled energy as it sweeps up into PA/NY/NJ and New England.
Debby is gone.
And, yet her misery lives on...
Flash Flooding potential in these areas.
Rainfall potential below.
Keeping this short as I'm tired. Honestly, I'm very tired of Debby and dealing with the weirdness of her trip through the Caribbean trying hard to find herself. And, as always systems such as this one always find their mojo in the Florida Straits moving into the Eastern Gulf of Mexico. Everything after that is icing on the cake in ways. But to be honest in the Carolinas she took death with her and killed 2 more people in storm related deaths. Tornadoes were a thing here and they were wild and fercious and deadly. Will see what today's weather tantrums will deliver as it moves up and away fast. Total Death Toll so far 8 people.
Deadly costly storm that impacted the whole of the East Coast.
How will Debby be remembered or will she be eclipsed by strong Major Hurricanes and people will say "Debby who?" and yet in Florida and the Carolinas she will be remembered. Memories are funny...
When I was young I thought the song below was beautiful, different and creative and all about Camelot. Made sense.... Sir Lancelot singing softly reminiscing on missing Queen Guinevere ...knowing he will dream again and felt really bad about that cake left out in the rain. Then I moved to LA and I was older and it meant other things to me. MacArthur Park turned out to be a PARK in LA a mile from where I worked and I'd pass it when I had to go downtown to file papers with the court as I was a Legal Secretary in those long ago days. Sometimes I'd stop on the way back, wander around staring in all directions taking in the city I had come to love and my interesting life back then. And, I was older and it had different meanings to me then, young but older as the song had been around for a long time confounding a lot of people who love music. So many meanings, so many thoughts. Kind of like American Pie that everyone of every age finds their own unique connection to... My son born after I moved back to Miami loves Hotel California, he's young and it's his favorite song, but to me Hotel California will always be the big, old, haunted hotel that hovers over the city named the Roosevelt Hotel.
What does this have to do with weather and hurricane season?
Hurricane Season means something different to all of us and memories we make whether tracking a distant Cane, or studying it compared to another one or preparing for it's landfall near our home becomes a memory on top of a memory. In LA I studied the geology of the region and the various early land grants named Ranchos and tried hard to catch the Miami Dolphins on TV whenever they played one of the 4 California football teams in those days. Miami girls always be Miami girls wherever they live even though now days I'm partly a Carolina Girl.
Debby, made me realize how much of a Carolina Girl I have become as every point in her track some place reminded me of a memory driving through a small town or mentally planning a trip to one of my favorite beaches. It's an awesome place to live. You want history you go to New Bern which delivers water views in every direction and almost always an incredible breeze at the park by the river.
Anyway I am taking a break. In a mood and wondering on what the rest of the hurricane season will bring us... and where will we go from here. Evita played Shubert Theater forever and the television ran commercials making Evita feel like part of the sound track of my LA days when I was way too young to know where life would take me.
So here I am in Carolina....
And, fairly sure we will have another hurricane follow Debby, but possibly more direct and we have saturated ground and swollen rivers. When Fran hit NC it was particularly bad as Bertha had made landfall and the ground was saturated from that and general heavy rains for a while before Fran found the coast of Carolina. Also think it'll be hard for Miami to avoid a hurricane landfall, but hoping as the Magic City holds a special place in my heart. Miami has good radio stations....... LA has great Talk Radio.
Sweet Tropical Dreams,
Make memories wherever you are... and never forget Hurricane Season is here so please stay prepared!
LA didn't have crickets or cicadas I'll add. Maybe up in the Hollywood Hills that framed my life while living in West Hollywood, but West Hollywood and Melrose definitely did NOT have crickets or cicadas.
:)
