Ernesto Gaining Strength, Getting Bigger Size Wise Aiming Towards Bermuda. A Bit on Bermuda History Hurricane Wise.. Maps and What Else Is Out There? Zoom Earth Awesome Always.

8 AM

Cones below.
First info on Ernesto.
Second some issues with Bermuda.

5 AM Cone.
Compare and Contrast with 11 AM.

True Confessions.
I LOVE Zoom Earth.

Zooming In....

Ernesto's track so far ...
...and forecast track.
Old wave behind him- more on that later
Wave off of Africa.
Yes, Saharan Dust.
Zoom in some more

Currently Bermuda in the right side of the Cone.
Ernesto is and will be a powerful Hurricane!
Still right sided.
So strongest storms on right side currently.

NHC Interactive site.
Center of Cone (can change)
Left of Bermuda
Yet Bermuda in strong winds
Tropical Storm Force Winds.
Switch the filter from NHC
to 64 Knots just below Cane Force.

Stronger winds further away.
But........rainfall, oh my goodness rainfall

Current Key Points from NHC

Moving beyond Ernesto.

My wave off Africa looks very healthy.
Note the wave near the Islands.
Part of Ernesto's gas line for energy.
And it's alive as IT has a gas line too.

This is linkage in the tropics.
How systems are linked together.
Far apart, yet links.
patterns.

My favorite colorful African Satellite Imagery Site.
Wave Train...Choo Choo
Stay tuned, September Remember coming soon.
Sooner than you think!!

Models are iffy with my wave ..
...that could change.
For now Ernesto King of the Atlantic

And the island in the Atlantic.
That Ernesto is aiming at is Bermuda.
So let's look at Bermuda.
I'll update 11 AM info at the top.

Hurricane History of Bermuda
Done quick and fast by Accuweather.

Bermuda is a archipelago of Islands.
Actually....
Similar looking to Key West.
Not a dot in the ocean....

For chasers this is a big decision.
IF they want to chase Hurricane Weather...
...it's "game on"
IF they want to chase only the EYE...
...it's a big gamble.
Some elevation in certain places.

Note Bermuda looks almost like a fishing hook. And, to catch the eye on it is like threading the needle and it's a needle in the middle of the Atlantic and if Ernesto leans left (West) they miss the eye. Either way it most likely will get slammed by hurricane winds, heavy rain and squalls. For the residents it's always like playing chicken with a hurricane as often they slide by to the left and Bermuda gets picturesque weather and they have built over time to try and be safe from the fury of a hurricane.

Winslow Homer painted the iconic painting.
Bermuda in a Hurricane.
He wandered around between Bermuda, Bahamas
...and Key West painting similar paintings.
All very English and all very beautiful.
Link to a site on Bermuda and Winslow Homer.
(awesome pics)

Key West.
When my family lived there in 1880s
No one lived out by Salt Marshes.

My ancestor was on this balcony.
Now La De Ta House in Key West.

The palm trees are small lol.
Different time and place.

Another map.

Key West original map.
No one lived in "New Town" aka Sears Town.
Only on the higher land.
Much added on the North side.
Salt ponds filled in ...in some places.
Old timers learned to live on high ground.
Much like settlers in New Orleans...
Note there used to be two pounds on Duval Street.
...when it rained heavy.

Key West now.
Link to map below.
Note tho chasing in Key West...
..you can move up the Keys
If it moves to the right.
To the left....no.
See Lower Keys below....

But in Bermdua.....
know there's no where to go...
..if the Hurricane blows.

Sweet Tropical Dreams,
BobbiStorm
Can consider myself a Conch.
Family from Key West..
...before that England.

Before they sailed away to another world.
Island in the Stream.
