Say Tuned! Recon Going Into 92L to Review the Situation, Get Data & We Are Waiting to See What They Find.

Grabbed this last night from satellite imagery.
What is that?
Looked so long at this...
..I feel like it's become a psychology test.

Is that a child looking at a butterfly?
Or the eyes of 92L
Or???
Currently still a Red X

Currently we still have a RED X
80 to 90% ready to go.
And below ....
...you see it's elongated and messy.
Or as some say a BLOB.

This is a true Tropical Disturbance...
...headed into the Islands.
Weak systems head more West usually.
They stay South until they don't.
Current Models.

The grids on Spaghetti Models...
...haven't changed taht much.
Though the itensity is lower.
That too can change...
...as can the track.
So check back often.
It's your gateway to the tropical models.

"I'll turn a leaf over and who can tell what I may find? I'm reviewing.. the situation...once a villian til the end?"

There's a cute song from the musical Oliver and those are the lyrics that came to mind this morning when looking at the messy blobby looking Invest 92L that has been given high hopes for becoming a Hurricane yet is having problems getting designatred a Tropical Depression. And the real problem is that info from the crime scene is that this wave is packing storms with winds of Tropical Storm force intensity.

So what is going to happen? They are sending in the planes as it has moved far enough West for them to go out, fly around, take lots of looks and get good information on exactly what is cooking down there. When there is a Category 3 Hurricane you can see down into every powerful cell with satellite imagery and other methods to evaluate it but a messy blob that is consistently forecast to become a named storm or a hurricane that has several pockets of energy contending for the title of the center makes it difficult and as recon is going in... I'm going to update this blog later today with whatever information they have found and the next batch of model runs.

So we are waiting, watching and expecting to get info. You'll note the NHC uses recon to bump a storm up to named status, but they also use it to take it down from 60 MPH winds to 40 MPH if they get out to the distant tropical storm and it ain't being very tropical if you know what I mean. Think Gonzalo. But 92L is huge and huge systems often hide the truth until they develop fully and so far as of 9 AM 92L is still 92L.

Check back later and see if we have a Tropical Depression or Storm or just a Tropical Disturbance, which is an old school term but the perfect term to describe Invest 92L.
