Tropical Depression 8 Forms in the Gulf of Mexico. TS Gonzalo Forecast to be a Hurricane Tomorrow.
A taste of what may come down the road.
but tonight it's all about TD8 and Gonzalo.
Tropical Depression 8 Forms Late in the Evening.
Cone up as are watches and warnings shown below.
Recon was in the system a long time today.
And 91L came together enough for an upgrade.
Actually looks very circular tonight.
Convection consolitating, pulling together.
Kat Campbell in Raleigh where I live put out a Cone.
She's good, very worth following.
Watches and Warnings.
And from the NHC Discussion above.
Models below.
Models show a minimal tropical storm moving along.
So don't believe any hype that you see online.
This is going to be Hanna.
Yes, a H storm but no NOT Harvey.
Next we have Gonzalo.
A strong tropical storm with 60 MPH.
Where TD8 is a a moist enironment.
Gonzalo is a fighter... fighting dry air off.
Discussion worth reading.
The fine print is always important.
They kept it at 60 MPH storm....
...yet they refer to a small eye.
I'm not going to rant at 11 PM.
And it's 83 Degrees in Raleigh tonight.
Feels like 92 degrees.
Pick your battles ya know...
It's the NHC's ball so they make the call.
But 60 MPH with a small eye.
An "eye" feature???
Read the discussion yourself.
Always good to see the details.
A hurricane watch is up for Barbados.
More watches will go up tomorrow.
Models.......
Long range models.
Lots of Ifs and Maybes and we will see in real time.
More models below.
Obviously down the road detours can happen.
It stays weak or it strengthens.
Much drama to come with this one.
And yes I know, I know.... the next wave!!
Look at those waves lined up.
A scene from the Wizard of Oz dances in my head.
Mother Nature's flying monkeys maybe.
My thoughts? It's late, I woke up early and it's been a very long day. I'm going to sleep and we can begin again fresh in the morning. More model runs will have been run and there will be thousands of Tweets on every possibility imaginable and much speculation on the wave behind Gonzo that looks to go far and many of us will be watching that one carefully..........if........the models are correct.
Sleep well and make a list and plans that will be in place and be ready to execute them at any time in the next few months while we go through the Alphabet with many named storms. You knew going into June that 2020 was different and well yes it is and we have to roll with the punches and prepare the best we can while fighting a Pandemic. Not your Momma's Hurricane Season is it?
I'll update tomorrow morning around 9 AM.
So if you are reading this on Thursday morning... I wrote this one for you!
And, I wrote it for me to use as a reference to look back at down the road, afterall this blog is my online diary of the tropical weather that I share with you. And, always happy to enjoy the conversation online. You're all awesome.
Sweet Tropical Dreams,
