TS Sally Forms Over South Florida - TD 20 Loses the Name Sally, Could be Teddy - Paulette Still Moving Towards Bermuda - Rene a TD With Odd Travel Plans
Being honest I'm reading through a lot of info and haven't even looked at models as I was offline today. I spoke to the kids in Miami, nothing terrible wind wise but definitely tropical with gusty winds. Some flooding, a significant weather warning just now for WPB area far from Sally down in the Florida Keys. My gut feeling was it would go through the Keys and South Dade, but developing storms are messy and the weather is often everywhere as it hasn't wrapped up into a neat ball yet; though latest satellite imagery shows it is trying to do so. The steering currents seem set in stone for now and I'm obviously concerned on slow forward speed as it nears the coast with warm water below it and hoping for shear to appear to keep it weaker but will know more tomorrow. Again it is still in formation stage, pulling it together.
As for Paulette it's obvously going to Bermuda and they have been boarding up for days as it's been going to Bermuda for days. Rene is a TD with odd travel plans, including a dip to the SW. Rene is not a player as much as a follower and it will follow the atmosphere and where it allows it to go or not go. As Paulette gets stronger, Rene will get weaker and Paulette as of 5 PM is still forecast to be a formidable hurricane. As for TD 20 I'm not ready to buy into any one track as it's too soon to tell, especially with weak Rene and stronger Paulette. Current track for TD 20 is to follow the leader, the leader being Paulette. Let's watch and see, it just got a name let's see what happens.
I'm going to relax tonight and geek out on models, loops and discussion and I'll post a normal full blog Sunday morning. The main point tonight is Sally is a Gulf of Mexico storm that would leave the T name for TD 20, TD 20 in the 2020 Hurricane Season. Hmmn... not buying into any track just yet with that one.
Have a good weekend. If you live in the area of the Cone near New Orleans I'd spend this time very wisely either preparing to leave, take what you can and or hunker down if you are in an area that doesn't flood and get your plans in order.
