TS Nana Moves Towards Landfall, Omar Waves BYE Invest 91L in the Atlantic ... Get Ready Because Here They Come... African Wave Train

My thoughts on the tropics this morning!

Nana going inland.
Main points from the NHC

Omar below.
Bye bye Omar.

Models for 91L
Do not trust them but watch them.
Until something forms with a real center.

This is the area to watch...
..hightlighted in RED
91L is out there and...
it has friends traveling with it.

91L

Earthnull shows this area well.
Trying to pull together.

I waited this morning for the 11 AM advisory package so as to give the most up to date information and I'll update at 2 PM if the NHC raises Invest 91L to Red Status as we wait and watch those African Waves. Yes, there's an Invest 91L off the coast of Africa, but besides a cluster or strong waves and some models we mostly have a convention of convection out there waiting for something to happen. A video I made regarding 91L that has been putting on quite the show this morning, will it continue throughout the days is the question and what will the NHC say about it at 2 PM?

Omar is out to sea and not much to talk about, another notch in the belt this year for the busy yaer of 2020 filled with mostly unforgettable storms that even good mets are debating wheher some should have been named. I'll be honest with you, I have too mcuh to do to right now than to debate that point and it's pointless as the NHC makes the call and that's the way it is so it is what it is and we are in search of the P name yet the only real name that most people will remember currently is Laura that loused up the lives for many in Louisiana and oh Isaias hard to spell and people went quite a spell without electric up north and I got to chase in my home town of Raleigh as it passed through with incredible violent looking clouds yet mostly just rain here in Raleigh. Speaking of Raleigh we have had a lot of rain and so has Charleston and I'm worried we will have more tropical rain in the not so distant future but as always time will tell.

I'm a little under weather this morning from being outside in the hot 90 degree sunshine for about 90 minutes late in the afternoon yesterday for a funeral where the Funeral Parlor part was moved to the graveside where people could socially distance with their masks on in the hot Summer like September sunshine so that about did me in... but doing better this morning than yesterday so that's good. A very unforgettable loveable man kind of like an Uncle to my husband and I who joined his most beautiful, forever missed Ella at the Raleigh Hebrew Cemetary and I'm making Chicken Curry tonight in her memory as she so loved to invite us over for dinner when she made Victor Chicken Curry.

There really isn't much to say. Nana not yet a hurricane but forecast to approach hurricane strength as it nears the coast in an area where mudslides happen could cause a real mess down there. If it wasn't being pestered by a strong set of Upper Level Lows it might have been a real contender but it's struggling to stay strong. Omar is going out to sea and not worth menitoning other than for posterity sake and the historical record.

What I do want to say about the African Waves is do NOT trust models that are run very early on with no system even there with no center but just a mess of convection trying to get going. When they are that far out it's too soon to call it a Fish storm or any other kind of storm it's time to watch it and make sure you Hurricane Supply Kit and Preparation Plan is ready to put into action.  And any models that show odd loops should be thrown out the way you would bad smelling 3 day old sushi... until something forms models are for entertainment purposes as you wait for leaves to turn and football to try and begin and debate at what point is it politically correct to drink Pumpkin Spice Lattes or even a Frappe.

I do talk a lot about Carolina as I do love it here as well as loving Miami and the Florida Keys and never forget Seattle but this just about says it all because if you have never been at the beach in Carolina to see a Full Moon rise you just haven't seen what the Carolina Moon looks like. First month or two here I sent my mother a beautiful postcard from a beach place where the moon rose up out of the water near the beach, shining over the marsh that frames the Bouges and the Sounds here in a picture perfect way.

I spoke about this yesterday and I'll say it again. People need to prepare and not judge the rest of the Hurricane Seaoson by a slew of weak storms that faded away fast after they were named. I worry on people being overwhelmed by Covid, financial issues and political concerns and they just cannot wrap their head around the fact that a Hurricane could happen, travel WNW under a strong high and smash into some city that was sure it would curve away and out to sea because other storms this year did and many did last year. So love this graphic from the NWS Miami on Hurricane Preparation, says so much....

Stay tuned.
I'll update at 2 PM if the graphics change.
You do your thing.
I'll do mine.
And hopefully we will get through 2020..
..and it's Uber Busy Hurricane Season.
