Quick update here to say there is nothing going on except hot weather and anxiety over hot weather. Unless you are one of those few people who wishes they could live their whole life in a Palm Springs Summer.... you are so ready for Fall I'm betting. Pumpkin Spice Latte and Football linger out there some 60 or 70 days away depending on how cold it is to be before you drink Pumpkin Spice Latte.

As for me when it's this hot in North Carolina it's time to go to Florida and feel the tropical breeze coming in off Biscayne Bay; the Piedmont is pretty in Autumn and horrible in summer. And, there's a new addition to my family I have to meet and greet and spend time with best friends and my Florida family. So, I'll be updating from Miami should anything pop up and surprise us close in or some old ghostly wave that starts to spin.  This time of year when shear is still there and heat rules the Southeast while we are complaining the tropics are slowly, quietly doing their thing to become more friend to tropical trouble.

You know when you have a guest coming you have to clean up the guest room that's become your extra supply cabinet and spruce up the yard a bit before hanging a Welcome mat to visitors named Chantal, Erin, Dorian and the very beautiful named Gabrielle not to forget the ever popular F storm. It's a process visible to those of us who watch the models with one eye and the satellite loops with the other eye. Rob from www.crownweather.com explains it well here below. So take care and I'll update when there is something to update. Til then ... sweet tropical dreams,

Perhaps the term "prolonged period" requires a definition. As for hanging out a "Welcome" mat for possibly erratic and destructive guests, I think most would agree it's far better to just wave gingerly from a safe distance as you sip your rum-runner at a hurricane party. :P
