Confusing Mixed Messages from the NHC...NOAA....NWS?

I'm a little confused here as to why the NHC now has logos on their site and there is a disclaimer at the same time making it clear their logos do not imply an endorsement... ???

Let' me explain again and post it below for you all to see...

This is the website we use for the following Tropical Weather Outlook, what we in the weather world affectionately call the "TWO"

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/   <----note address....="address...." noaa="noaa" of="of" p="p" part="part" the="the" their="their" website="website">

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
100 PM EST THU NOV 15 2012

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.

The above text is the text I receive daily in my email.... from the NHC who is part of NOAA and yet use of their logo does not endorse the forecast...

Strange...

There is nothing going on.. by the way...   A coastal low is setting up in the Atlantic that according to the models will not come on shore however...will have an effect on many beaches from OBX to NY and  beyond to possibly Canada.

Considering we all... say the NHC is the final word in Tropical Weather information and warnings... they are the where the buck is supposed to stop ... they ARE the NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER..

Why would "they" feel the need to put logos on and then put up a disclaimer akin to one on the old Miss Cleo website stating for "entertainment purposes only" ... which is basically what they imply if they do not endorse the information from the NHC.

Even those horrible ads during the campaign often had endorsements by the candidates ....

Is this some sudden turf war over the fallout on Hurricane Sandy?

Very strange...very, very strange.

If they don't endorse the NHC who does and why not?

Information on the coastal low is shown below. This is from a great group on Facebook that covers this general area with information.

Stay tuned... just wanted to point out something that seemed strange .... it's as if they do not endorse themselves and can't believe that is what NOAA wants to imply unless this is because of the fallout between the NWS and the NHC as to who owns the responsibility for the downgrade of Sandy to Sandy vs Hurricane Sandy just prior to landfall...

Coastal Flooding from unnamed storm and coastal low... and I endorse this picture and this Facebook site!

Besos BobbiStorm

Here's a photo of coastal flooding this morning in Garden City, South Carolina. Tides are falling at the beaches now, but are still rising within tidal rivers. High tide should occur along the Cape Fear River at Downtown Wilmington between 10:30 and 11:00 this morning with minor coastal flooding expected.

And, we are lucky it is not worse... this is a group that is on Facebook that you can join if you want to follow weather in the Eastern NC region. Note ...weather that affects that region generally tends to go north towards the Mid-Atlantic and NE unless it goes out to sea. This year the "out to sea" door has not been open as much as it generally is...
