Coast Of Carolina Coastal Storm...

It's a cold, wet, damp day on the Outer Banks of North Carolina on these last weeks of the 2012 Atlantic Hurricane Season.

Visible Water Vapor - GOES East 12 hr Loop

Whatever that is that is out there... non-tropical low, back door cold front or wanna be "Noreaster" is creating high tides, coastal flooding and some serious beach erosion.

The "juice loop" shows tropical energy swirling into a spiral, cyclonic sort of system just prior to heading onto the beaches of Ocean Isle, Wilmington and the Outer Banks but... it seems we no longer do "extra-tropical storms" or "subtropical" so it's just a weather event handled by the NWS so you won't hear much about it on the news...

See the low sitting over...inland...over the Carolinas ... which will push off later in the week.

Look at how that wound up prior to going in.. nice roll...

There is an odd sort of circulation that exists off the coast of Carolina... whether it's an illusion or not it is circulating and it is spreading inland over both South and North Carolina.  See "juice loop" above...

I'm honestly more concerned about the next system ...but I think this one was under forecast and people who went to the Outer Banks beaches this weekend were taken by surprise of the strength of that storm.

Winter is coming though and the hurricane season is fading away in a debate on Sandy which may continue as long as the debate on why Romney lost and why Obama won.. I'm expecting "The Making of Sandy" as a powerful expose book on the shelves in time for Christmas... or maybe an ebook ;)

Note on Friday the temperature is forecast to go down into the teens in Ames, Iowa...

Look at that pine tree bend on Sunday the 25th..which should make traveling home from the holidays a real pain in the turkey's ass if you ask me...

Sorry but people do travel and Sunday is prime time to drive home...

Winter's coming... trust me I know. If you haven't picked out your winter coat... Black Friday would be a good place to start!

Either way.... it's been a nice day hanging out with one of my close friends who moved to Pittsburgh who was visiting this weekend. No Miami Dolphin game today to worry on... though I heard good commentary on the Carolina Panthers, Miami Dolphins and Tebow being on lock down in New York City at the Farmers Market. So...that's my life... ginger snaps and hot tea and an incredible big baked Sweet Potato for dinner with Roasted Pepper Corn Soup.

Hope you got somewhere nice to be tonight...

Enjoy the great Jimmy Buffett sing Coast of Carolina...and enjoy the beautiful images... until tomorrow...

From the bottom of my life... Sweet Tropical Dreams...
