Tropical Storm Leslie Forecast to Sit for 4 Days - Griselda Blanco Worse Than a Cat 5 Hurricane Dead!

I suppose there isn't much to say about Tropical Storm Leslie that has not already been said. She hasn't changed... she isn't going anywhere. Any discussion on movement is really an illusion as she will bobble north, bobble south, bobble east and then bobble west as she is making small cyclonic loops out in the Atlantic Ocean. She is far enough out to be giving people in Florida heart palpitations like other hurricanes that did this just off shore in the Bahamas.

She's out there spinning.

For now there is shear that is keeping her in check, however that shear is forecast to decrease and her winds are forecast to increase to 105 mph in 5 days or so. That could be less if the shear decreases faster.

The salient part of the discussion this morning is this:

A SHORTWAVE RIDGE OFF THE CAROLINAS IS
BUILDING EASTWARD IN THE WAKE OF THE TROUGH. THE INCREASED RIDGING
TO THE NORTH OF LESLIE IS EXPECTED TO HINDER ANY SIGNIFICANT
FORWARD MOTION FOR THE NEXT 4 DAYS.

So, with that said I am not going to worry much on Leslie. Let me say however, should I be at a beach on the East Coast tomorrow sometime, somewhere I really am hoping to see some wave action that I can attribute to Miss Leslie!

Further to the East is a wave that came off of Africa the other day (no that is not TD 13) and another beautiful wave about to come off of Africa. Hard not to stare at them looping.

So, that's it for now... not much more to add.

On a totally trivial sort of note, though not so trivial just not tropically trivial...

Griselda Blanco was murdered in a grizzly drive by shooting at a butcher shop in Medellin, Columbia by motorcycle assassins.  This woman was a butcher indeed and worked her trade in the South Florida area responsible for over 200 deaths and much of the Cocaine Cowboy traffic that Miami was so famous for in the 80s.  You know that negative newspaper article about Miami... we have her to thank.

Mentioning it here because if you have not seen my friend Alfred Spellman's movie (with Billy Corben) Cocaine Cowboys... now might be the time to watch it and see what kind of mayhem she helped to create across South Florida. She was responsible for the deaths of more people than most tropical storms and hurricanes that have rolled across our shores.

Something to think on... how ironic she was killed in a butcher shop.
