Storm With No Name

Good Morning Miami and the rest of the Tropical World watching and waiting for the system that looks like a Tropical Storm to be finally called Fay.

The above is a picture of the system bringing very strong winds and rain to Puerto Rico this morning.

I don't pretend to understand all the dynamical explanations of why they have not named this system but suffice it to say it has not met their parameters. Be glad you are not married to them? Possibly they need a little counseling in being anal retentive. They have raised "going by the rules" to a new levels?

But this semi-organized mass of strong storms with winds around the 40 range according to TWC and rain very noticeable on the radar is moving west. It's raining really hard in Puerto Rico. That seems to be all you need to know. It is also moving towards Hispaniola, will ride along the north coast of the Dominican Republic (the country that brought you Manny Fernandez) and it will continue west until it pulls
a bit more north and stops hugging coastlines and goes back out over very hot water and the models at that point have it becoming a BIG hurricane.

Miami and Florida may be screwed. Or the storm with no name will re-curve in the Bahamas. Whew...were we lucky.

See Dick and Jane



Dick and Jane have names. If Dick and Jane live in the South Florida area or any of the general Florida area this storm is coming your way and you may need to deal with it early next week. Or..you get lucky and go to the beach and watch some beautiful waves as it misses us and catches a ride on the Gulf Stream towards someone else's back yard.

This...by the way...is the reason people love to go online and click on message boards and read what others have to say because they want to try and take control of a situation. Not because they are wishing for death and doom on the nightly news. Aside from being fascinated by hurricanes and the amazingly, beautiful metamorphosis that is going on many people are looking for info that cannot be given by the governmental agencies until they have all their T's crossed and their I's dotted. Online you don't need to cross you i do you darling? Nope, you don't. So, people know the storm is there. ALL the Florida channels are doing a very good job of reminding people it is there and it may come this way (or may not) and so we all know to make a plan, go shopping when it's time, figure out our options.

It's like when you have a stalker say.. or someone who keeps making annoying phone calls trying to harass you. The phone rings but no one is there. And, then it rings again. Or they ask for Trixie or Dixie and try to get you to talk but they don't give their name. They send gifts. "Oh...look, the postman is here and there's a little package in my mail." But, all you see is the postman. Does it make a big difference who is sending you the very expensive flip flops or pink roses or chocolate covered strawberries? Does it change anything? No... cause you know that they are out there somewhere even if you can't give them a name and you know that every where that Mary goes the lamb is sure to go. ET doesn't always phone home but he does sometimes send presents. Yup.. it's like having a stalker hiding behind sunglasses, you can't see his eyes but you know he is there.



And, if you see a dog in a dark alley with a pair of sunglasses you know that it's bark is loud and it can bite you if you are not careful.

So.... knowledge is power, watch the web or your local TV weather and when the hurricane planes and the Hurricane Center finds the center they will let you know and you will know if you are going to get Coconut Ice Cream on South Beach or Berry Ice Cream in the Bahamas.
