Finally Fay? How Long Do We Have To Play This Name Game
There are really no words.
Deja Vu so many storms that they waited and waited to upgrade and yet so many storms that looked like crap with multiple centers in the GOM were upgraded.
I understand.. something about upper and lower level centers coming together, quikscat data that argues other data and the plane couldn't find the center (we've heard that one before) and this is way too close to the outer islands (Virgin and others) for me to worry too much about the big, scary ice cream cone the NHC has to draw up that could include Florida in it's 5 day. Wait for a few more models, wait for the planes.
A Martian flying by Earth would look down at this point and go "bummer, there's a hurricane forming down there, gonna suck for someone's weekend weather" and if they were a smart Martian planning on doing South Beach or the Bahamas they might want to buy water and batteries unless their space craft can just beam them up and out of there.
Welcome to the world of the weird in Tropical Forecasting.
It is what it is as far as I am concerned and what is really in a name, huh Bill?
A rose by any other name smells as sweet and a storm by any other name or no name is as windy and wet.
Waiting on the NHC to say we finally have Fay!
www.stormcarib.com has by the way a great, improved home page of years past. Love it!

Let me tell you something.. this storm has Major written all over it and it is supposed to slow down and the currents may become weak and I wouldn't go by any
model just yet...
Time to write the forecast and pick the flavor of cone this one will be cause it's time NHC..
I like cautious, I do but this is getting surrealistic!
More later.. going to lunch!
