Yellow Circle 20% in 7 Days...10% in 2 Days. Active Wave Train. Wild Storms in Carolinas Tonight... Maybe Something Close in ? Stay Tuned.

Saturday Night in Raleigh. Hot, humid and heavy thunder. Was thinking of going out for Ice Cream but think the thunderstorm will mess up that vibe. It's not just about the Ice Cream. If you have never been to a Ice Cream hangout spot where locals go and bring the kids, the girlfriend, the boyfriend and sit on the back of a truck like they are in a movie in some ideal town in America......then you know what I mean. The Ice Cream is always fun the vibe is awesome. Little Ice Cream place lit up in the night everyone out enjoying the night. But as you can see from the satellite image below...it's pouring.

And, again there's a yellow circle out in the Atlantic as if we are in late July :) and we are and time moves to it's rhythm and it's a song I know well. Maybe I'll just stay up looping loops, reading posts and looking at the  models. We have gone full circle. Started out "posting" on AOL then wandered through Message Groups and poor MySpace with the awesome images and musical songs (so ahead of it's time) then Facebook and then tweeting... we are back to posting and we have gone full circle.

Oh look graphics on X
Nothing gets my heart racing like a tropical wave.
Especially that 1st tropical wave of the year.

On Saturdays I read a lot. I do some prayer for what it's worth. I eat, rest and sleep and then read some more. Found a treasure chest of Miami History and Key West History complete with the 1920 Phone Directory for Miami Beach that I printed out at the Archives at the Miami Historical Museum, be aware it wasn't that big. Wild stuff. Things I was able to think on I didn't at the time as I was focused on so many other things. Then I found an old diary from 2005 when I was trying to piece my life together in almost poetic fashion yet filled with comedy which if you know me you know me and thanks by the way for the gifts and music but I digress :) Point is I was dealing with guy friends, guys I was dating and a lot weighing on my busy mind and as I'm seriously slicing and dicing my life apart endlessly obsessing on what I should do the paragraph stops and below it I wrote in big letters. "There's an Invest Off of AFRICA!"

There's an Invest off of Africa. I giggled. Maybe it was Emily who remembers but the fact that it was OFF OF AFRICA was enough to distract me from whatever was tearing at my heart.

It's hard to explain to someone who doesn't get hurricanes and tracking and chasing what it means to have the first Invest off of Africa!

So do we have any real expectations? Not really, except it's a start. And, I never count out a wave to start to fall apart and then trick us and come back. For example let's take Harvey. Harvey was the most annoying, exhausting tracking saga of 2017 in ways, of a tropical kind, as it just floundered about everyone sure it would die and then everyone thought modeling was stupid and then it didn't die and then it swamped Houston and surrounding areas with all the moisture the models promised.

Look at this track. Seriously. It limped along in it's mediocre way but whispering "I'm still here" and in the end it played us. It lulled everyone in a busy season to think that it was not compelling and falling apart. Oh.... like Andrew but different. Have you ever seen so many blue dots for so long not to mention the dotted ones when it's as downgraded fighting shear. Yet it persevered.

I am NOT saying this Invest will do that that but I am reminding you until it's over you just never know. And, it was 2017 afterall. But still few were betting Harvey would go the distance. Then again it was 2017.

So let's start this over tomorrow morning and see what we shall see. So far it did surprise me, as I was watching it but didn't think the NHC would bite. Okay, the NHC surprised me.

As for our waves....
...actually a wave complex out there.

Time will tell....
Maybe something close in again.
Fronts on the move....
Color in the ITCZ
Wave entering BOC maybe.

Stay tuned.
Rocking and rolling night ...

Sweet Tropical Dreams,
