Tropical Dreams. What Are Tropical Dreams... Do Tropical Waves Dream?? Stay Tuned. Nothing Happening Today But... June Might Not Be Too Soon in 2024! Dancing Tropical Waves...

What are tropical dreams?

Sometimes, in some years ... some waves come off of Africa with dreams of becoming a tropical something. Kind of vague I know, but hey it's a dream. It's not my dream, it's this wave's dream that he can attain some recognition even in June... somewhere down the tropical road in the tropical basin. The Wave has form, style and bones and yet it's June and shear is strong where it's going. Saharan Dust is there drying out the atmosphere, though I would not say that the SAL this year is of Epic standards. What happens to this lil wave and it's high bouncing dreams fueled by hotter than regular water this early in the season? Stay tuned as we move deeper into June.

It's hard to sustain those high expectations when you have to battle with all of the above mentioned issues of shear and SAL and it being climatologically awkward for it to be there at all. But, seeing as we have no Invest today nor do we have a designated area to watch ....we can all watch whatever we want to watch and or just continue doing research on what this particular season may be.... when we are looking back in the rear view mirror. Does the name William get used??? Chris for sure, Debby definitely, Sara and William... possibly.

There have been years, I have to warn you, when forecasts predicted a bumper crop of hurricanes and something changed and the crop wasn't as huge as expected. There's always that one thing that changes everything and yet it's too early for us to say there will be that one thing that changes everything and yet, there almost always is.....

Like life... when you are a little girl you want to be a dancer and you dance and prance about the house in a slip your mother bought you to wear under your fancy dress and yet the slip becomes your ballerina tutu and you spiral around in circles with your arms out like a hurricane thinking one day you'll dance on stage or in a movie. Then you wanna be an actress, or perhaps an actress that dances in a musical on broadway or the movies and you learn new steps such as tap and belly dance. And, down the road.... you study International Relations with an emphasis on Post WW2 Geopolitics and Russian Studies and you go out with you boyfriend and dance all night at a DISCO to 80s music in platform heels.

Sometimes this is where dreams collide.
And, waves find some traction.
IF they can stay alive ...

Sometimes a wave comes along that can do all that even in June and July. Usually it fires up further down the road after it slides under the high or beneath the wind shear and reconnects with the previous wave that met up with a frontal boundary close in and then things begin to happen and meteorologists take notice and even the EURO is interested!!! The GFS is easy, half a drink and it's dancing on tables showing hurricanes hitting Florida, Carolina and then Canada in June. Last night the GFS must have left the dance hall with the EURO as it's now closer to the EURO solution of shooting a system out of the Caribbean moving NE to nowhere and not surprising the whole Eastern Seaboard. We can talk on what models dream another day..

Last night GFS above 992 MB....
...this morning GFS 1008 below.
Bet she has a hangover...

So someone let the GFS 18Z out of the closet...

EURO... above.

We have had early tropical waves form such as the infamous Bertha out in the open Atlantic, dancing her little heart about and taking aim on far away places such a as the Carolinas. Though this year with frontal boundaries that'd be hard and it may want to just get a name and do some other dance program. Time will tell.  Could June of 2024 be like July of 1996 when Bertha did the dirty deed and frazzled all the old time Mets that insisted July is too early?

Stay tuned....
....the music is just beginning.
We aren't sure where we are going.....
...but if we get to 24 named storms.
We gotta start somewhere.

Twitter mostly WXR .. Insta anything goes.

Ps... I'm not insinuating anything.
Last thing I saw on Insta was this video.
And, I giggled.
But woke up in NC with 68 degrees....
..back in Miami it was 80 degrees at 7 AM.
That's the Mean Season.
Mean Season = muggy, hot at sunrise.
Mean Season = Hurricane Season.

I could lie and say Miami is a boring place to grow up and crowded with tourists but it's not. Miami kids all have access to someone's pool as only the tourist sunbathe on the beach and they always know where to go to party be it a place on South Beach or a hidden away place that feels like Heaven; today's kids find their way to Club Space and my kids take selfies while dancing making memories. Or you go to the boardwalk in Hollywood, hang out and dance on the boardwalk as sometimes you see people doing by that Latin restaurant everyone loves with the singer doing the Samba. Love music, love dancing.... love weather! Sweet Tropical Dreams............get those supplies before it's time to use them. Things happen fast in the Tropics sometimes ...especially when it's 80 degrees before you can even open up your eyes in Miami. I prefer listening to the lil birds chirping at sunrise, watching through the pines with the windows cracked open .....watching sunrise feeling the remnants of cool air as we slide into Summer. I can almost spell the peaches at the Farmers Market :) and Raleigh isn't boring it has Glenwood South at night for drinks and dancing.
