TS Fiona A Fish Storm. Invest 99L Wants Red Meat. Stay Tuned. Models Take 99L & Future Wave West ....

Fiona finally behaves and turns NW.
After holding her breath earlier today...
..she has given up and is following the forecast.

Oh my goodness...there's something behind Fiona.
What could that be?
Well, let's talk Fiona first as it has a name.

Actually to be fair that wave also has a name.
INVEST 99L

But let's stick with Fiona just now..
Tropical Discussion from the 5 PM Advisory

Discussion from the NHC at 5 reads a lot like a Romance Novel.
Sorry but true. "After a brief convective hiatus..."
Tropical Soap Opera.

Fiona has company.
And the company may be staying for dinner.
And the company may be looking for red meat.
Not fish.

Loop of the lead wave that is visible in the above loop.

I'll be updating this blog later tonight and for sure first thing in the morning. I just want to put it out there that the real threat here is Invest 99L that is the one behind and to the SE of Tropical Storm Fiona. Coming off of Africa is another wave that will most likely be an Invest soon. It is way early and buying into early models this far out is akin to buying $100 worth of Lotto tickets cause you think you will have a better chance at winning Powerball. Still people do and sometimes early models verify. Basically you are looking at a pattern more than a specific point of Landfall.

For example long range models for Invest 99L AKA Soon to be Gaston show it impacting the islands and threatening the Caribbean. At some point some of the models then pull it North towards Florida and the Carolinas. Without a true center and without a true named storm we are really doing the best we can with models that exist today. Years from now we will make fun of how poor the models will in 2016. But for now this is as good as it gets.

Those are LONG RANGE models showing a storm going the distance.
No model for Fiona ever showed that...

Hurrtracker.com has this "cone" up online.
If you don't have their App... get it!

Notice the curve at the end where it possibly pulls North.
Note fronts are going to begin descending.
IF a tropical form forms and or makes it to hurricane status.
It will feel the pull and want to go more poleward.

So stay tuned.
Check back often.

Ps... Fiona is your run of the mill Fish storm.
Gaston and Hermine may have different destinies.
