Tropical Storm Edouard Looking Good.. Is Fay behind him?
Okay being honest here. Only Edouard is looking all that good.
There is a rich ripe moisture laden atmosphere in the Gulf of Mexico that would normally be primed for a tropical storm...however.... it's a mess though it could look better tomorrow. The area off of Florida is moving over warm water but the upper atmosphere is not conducive to development.
Again there is potential not on the NHC maps for development in the BOC. A mere chance of something, a whisper in the tropical night.
Where would it go?
Any one's guess is as good as mine...though for now I'd say WEST.
IF...it does develop it would be picked up by a cold front... that's a bit IF.
So Fay could be in the far distant Atlantic following Edouard or... maybe in BOC or GOM.
Truth is when you have the POTENTIAL for any development traveling over the Loop Current you cannot count it out. Systems in the GOM..especially the Eastern GOM can ramp up fast and pull together even faster.
So as much as I'd love to go into more detail and give my thoughts .. my thoughts are we are in a watch and see mode... keep watching.
In the Eastern Atlantic there is a wave behind Edouard and it has a yellow X and there too we are watching.
Beginning to feel like a tennis match here... watch, watch...
Also note there is another wave behind this one...
Should know more tomorrow...
but this is what it is...
this is the name of the game...
we watch..we wait...
we watch in real time and that is what weather watching is all about.
Until then the models are going to continue to look like spaghetti that fell all over the floor.

Ps
Do not be surprised if late Sunday shear relaxes and the No Name X finds a sweet spot!
