Leslie, Michael & the Remnants of Isaac in the Gulf?
Leslie is where she has been all day, trying to plod along and jogging a bit to the west... not really moving, trying to get her convection over her center and she will be doing this for a day or so ...so not much more to add tonight.
Michael is that small dot in the middle right that has a circle around it... not the wave to the south that has no circle around it. Michael is a small, minimal tropical storm and there isn't much to say about it right now either. It seems that every few years we have a Sea Change at the NHC as to how and why they name a system and this group has decided Michael was worthy of a name. This is the problem with the Global Warming Concerns on a season like this which has a "high number of storms" yet many have been barely there, minimal storms that in other years would not have been named. I remember years back when Bob Sheets was in charge there were waves that looked like hurricanes and he was so insistent on waiting longer before upgrading them... it was mind boggling, you wanted to pull your hair out. There were waves which looked incredible, almost had an eye and he waited until they could send in recon or they were closer to land. I'd like a "re do" where we can go back and upgrade those very put together storms that never got a name and do the math over.
Discuss Global Warming on other fronts... do not compare a storm like Michael to years when Bob Sheets was slow to upgrade similar but stronger storms and then compare and contrast.
Anyway, a bigger concern or question mark is WHY DID THE NHC PUT A YELLOW CIRCLE OVER ALABAMA?
The remnants of a part of Issac have been drifting back towards the Gulf..spinning their way towards water and some models do develop them. People have been discussing this all day... a lot of discussion.
It's possible... a part of Isaac could regenerate over the warm waters of the Gulf later this week. A long shot perhaps, but it has a yellow circle never the less.

Look at that system and how it blows up as it hits water... wow.
So, that is it for the day. And, a strong wave is coming off of Africa later this week.
On a personal note I took a break today. Leslie wasn't going anywhere, anytime soon to I took a small trip. My husband's uncle passed away at the ripe old age of 92.. a wonderful, outgoing, strong willed man... so we drove up to the funeral, drove back from the funeral and stopped at the ocean. Nice waves... a strong breeze... always a good day when you can touch base with the ocean at the end of the day and give thanks for all you have.
So, what will we have tomorrow? Good question. And, what will the NHC do with the remnants of the remnants of Isaac tomorrow? Stay tuned... while the underdog Michael spins far away in the Atlantic and Leslie kicks up the waves on our beaches all week.
Sweet Tropical Dreams..
Bobbi
