Hurricane Chris Dances In the North Atlantic

As predicted in my previous post the NHC upgraded Chris to Hurricane status making it the first Hurricane of the Atlantic Season. I think it will be the first of many, which is ironic considering the early predictions by the powers that be for this season were conservative and kept on the low side.

He's out there, big, powerful and not going anywhere specific soon. Interesting "cone" looks more like an artist's pallet.

Note, a strong storm lingering out there will muck up the steering currents in the Atlantic for other storms or possibly draw a weaker storm across Florida into the Atlantic. Just a thought. One of many that's going through my messy meteorological mind.

Also, in addition keep in mind that there is a lot of flooding already being reported over South Florida and the Florida Keys from the disturbance to the south and anywhere Debby does make landfall will have to deal with huge amounts of inland flooding later down the road...especially if she moves further up into the Gulf.
