Tornado Thoughts in a Tropical Storm Warning

THE STRONG WINDS WILL LEAD TO AN ELEVATED TORNADO THREAT
BEGINNING THIS EVENING...BUT INCREASING THROUGH THE NIGHT AND
MAXIMIZED ON SATURDAY. SHEAR PROFILES BECOMING INCREASINGLY
FAVORABLE FOR MINI-SUPERCELLS...AND RADAR DATA HAS ALREADY
DETECTED SOME ROTATION IN THE CELLS OVER THE FLORIDA STRAITS. WITH
AFTERNOON HEATING ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON...THIS THREAT WILL HIGHEST
THEN.

From Miami NWS.

Very breezy conditions with everything that was loose taking flight into the air such as leaves, dust, construction dirt..etc.

They are building a Walmart near the library.. its a mess.

Hot, humid and hazy.

Wind grabs and tugs at your clothes and your hair.

Heat Index way over 100. Temps in 90s

Barometer falling.

Long talk all morning off and on with friends from Key West whether they should stay or leave. They are hunkering down in a strong concrete structure well in land, well...as inland as you can get in Key West. A Hurricane Shabbos.

Bought some kid size flashlights that loop on a belt to keep on kids .. just in case power goes out. With strong winds and possible squalls anything can happen.

Seems to me that Dennis came in East of the plots. Maybe I am wrong. Haven't looped that much.. will see what he does now that he is over land. Is he speeding up instead of slowing down from the friction? hmmm

Watching
