Maria Forms and Becomes a Problem Immediately. Jose and Maria... A story to tell. Lee should be less complicated.

Just a quick update on the forecast track for Jose that is being pulled more and more to the right  (East) leaving only Martha's Vineyard to be seriously concerned for now. This could change as Jose as been less than predictable and difficult to forecast with regard to odd movements and loops.

Lee formed but is less to worry about than Maria that will be affecting the same Islands Irma rampaged over last week. What can I say? When you get a pattern that sets up in the short term it's a problem.

Maria could become a problem for Florida or the Carolinas or the whole coastline in between. Most models show it as problem for the Carolinas but the last Euro run was complicated showing some interaction between storms. For now... Florida needs to continue cleaning up and checking back down the road on Maria. I'm waiting for the overnight Euro run before giving my thoughts.

PR, Virgin Islands and Bahamas all need to watch Maria carefully. She is forecast to become a strong hurricane and I'd venture to say she could go major. Either way any strong hurricane is one too many for us to deal with now as those same regions are trying to recover and get back to normal and any brush with a hurricane would set that back greatly.

I will do a long discussion after the morning advisories and the first good morning visuals. Please check back for that Sunday morning.

Ps more on my trip to South Florida tomorrow... a real tree trimmer storm. Let's hope any future storms will be weaker not stronger...
