TD8 AKA HENRI in the Atlantic. Healthy Tropical Wave Near Carib. Grace Very Weak Pulse. Stay tuned for updates....

Big picture above shows the big frontal boundary across the US
What looks like a storm that should have a name.
Beneath that is "just a tropical wave" riding low in the water.
Grace is...not really visible here.
Oddly only one I hear talking on this is Jim Cantore other than me.
I mean it's hard to ignore.
I've been watching it the last 2 days.
We gave more attention to the remnants of Erika...

Words and music.
Numbers and figures.
This to me is confusing.
It's not consistent.

We have Tropical Depression Grace
Tropical Depression 8
I understand the reason why.. but it still bothers me.
It's inconsistent.

2:23 minutes in... great line.

“A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do"

The NHC has little to do with this one, they can take the old models out of the trash can, the old discussion and rewrite it easy enough. Like those modern romance novels some women read (and men..) that sound the same, different names and different cities otherwise..you read one you read them all.

That IS the 5 Day...

They relocated the center of Grace a bit to the South. I find that interesting. Why? The wave before it flared up noticeably as it neared the islands. Perhaps... by staying lower Grace might have a chance to impact some islands further to the South than Danny and Erika. Let's spread the rain around...

Rob from Crown Weather believes Grace will most likely dissipate with an outlying possibility that she could regenerate later. That's based on the Canadian model that doesn't like seeing Grace leave the scene. Most mets are keeping their fingers crossed behind their back on this one. They don't want to rule it out but its not hard to see where the tea leaves are falling with this family of Cape Verde Storms.  That said, often in a year like this, one wave makes it through. So keep watching.

Note some models still hold out hope for a pull to the right.

www.spaghettimodels.com has it all.

Note if they are right they win an award.
If they are wrong...got to go to rehab...

Moving on...

TD 8 is merely a table being held for HENRI
The NHC most likely will crown him with that name later today.
Originally there was much discussion that this would not affect land..
....only open sea.

That's changed and the soon to be Henri has landfall on his mind.
Time will tell.

Places below possibly on his bucket list... .... !

This is shown by Jim at Hurricane City well.

He could miss land.
Note I'm using the "him" cause I won't be dictated...
...by a scientist on grammar.

Again its worth mentioning the Canadian Weather Centre will be all over this one.
Yes they spell it that way Virginia.. it's their way of doing things.

As for waves no one is really talking on..
Down near South America...
Southern Islands like Trinidad and Tobago there is a wave.
Lower shear, warm water and looks good.
Might not get attention but hard to ignore.
Again we only watch what the models watch....
Not me... I love a good water vapor loop.

Note the storm in the EPAC shuts down the GOM for a few days.

Grace is the blue dot to the NE of the No Name Wave.
Just fun to watch.
Watching weather should be fun..

Also note a lot of convection off the SE Coast E of JAX
I like JAX...it is high up on my great places to live list!

A good place to look for some interesting tropical journaling is
http://stormcarib.com/
Their posters scattered around the islands report in..
If you like local weather color from real live people... worth a read.

So I will be back with more on Henri and anything I see...
...in the tropics.

Hard to think on the name Henri without thinking on sunflowers.
I had a friend who sent me the most awesome cut sunflowers once.
Just before the Jewish New Year.
Special Delivery in a box ...
...sunshine in a box.

No not using sunflowers this year...
Maybe roses or lots of whatever I fall in love with...
(never end a sentence with a preposition...
...but that's not really a sentence its a fragment)

I'm not very impressed with the next few African Waves.
Maybe that's good and they develop further out?

I'm going to look closer in..
Off the SE Coast. GOM and yes in the Carib maybe.

See anything close in worth watching?
