Going for a walk... watching damage..quick thoughts

Very quick thoughts here and excuse typing and grammar .. am dazed and amazed, saying it again at the damage being shown on TV. The STUPIDITY of people out there ... enjoying the AC after a sleepless off and on night and being connected to the world. Thankful for good friends emailing me info, comments and ongoing funny IM.. with close friend online.. Son in Hollywood has no power still. Son in Miami Shores lost power when a big, old avocado tree split in half and they lost power. Brother down the park still has no power. Annoyed that people are out wandering around in South Dade and driving through flooded neighborhoods in their big ass trucks going 30mph making wakes that are going up driveways of flooded homes. Can see it on TV... some reporter just amazed that they have no sense of common manners that someone near by has a house with 8 inches of water and their door open and flooded yards and the driver doesn't seem to understand or care he is making wakes that are causing damage inside ...and you don't know if you are out there sightseeing that you could be bit by a Coral Snake ..one of the most poisonous snakes around. I lived down in the deep southwest and I now what those areas are like... and those new fancy, poorly built "Lake Subdivisions" are a few miles from the Glades... hello it is time to wake up and smell the grits guys... Anyway, high and ry here and going to walk around my block where there is little damage beyond tree limbs down to see what is what and to feel what is left of the wind. If I had flooding .. I wouldn't be doing that.. I'd be staying close to home. For those of you who keep emailing me.. asking... The kids are fine. Oldest son home ..age 20.. took good care of everyone. Kept making everyone stay in front of the house and close to house during the eye. He took good care of me.. yelled to stay near the house A LOT. Anyway, going out to look around... feel bad for Keys because they really didn't expect to get what they got and yes NHC is right..they did issue a hurricane warning for Dade but they were real late with warnings for Keys and they kept insisting it was going W when it was already going SW. GFDL nailed direction if not the strength.. well last GFDL. UKMET wasn't bad either. And, funny how when the eye like feature got over the NHC Max called it an eye but before that he kept insisting it wasn't an official eye but when it went over FIU.. WAY to the south.. it was an EYE. Hmmmmmm guess it is all a matter of perspective. later.. maybe soon can figure out why my blog has some strange feature that doesn't let me do paragraphs.. who cares.. I got the EYE.. soo soooo sooo cool First actual "eye" I ever got and sorry Max but it was an eye.. was deadly calm.. pressure felt funny, air felt funny... got warm even .. no wind. later.. post from hurrcity.. Watching news coverage of flooded areas down in the deep southwest part of Miami Dade County. People in rowboats, kayaks.. etc.. Standing around in knee deep water walking around. Standing in water with machetes trying to clean up ficus trees???
Let me say this about that... or may I say what my son just said.. There are SNAKES in that WATER. There COULD be CORAL SNAKES in that water. Forget alligators who found their way out of canals and lakes just east of the Everglades in those newly built "Lakes" subdivisions...
This is stupid. This is Miami... edge of the Everglades and families with kids should keep their kids close to the house..
There is a BOIL WATER order for Homestead. This is not localized street flooding where kids run out and play. IF you live on a Lake or Canal and the streets are flooded down the block and you go walking around into it.. you could get cut from debris you can't see... broken glass and bit by snakes.
Not talking about minor flooding but talking about those Lake like subdivisions ... snakes sliter in water like that.
Someone on TV should mention this and point out the dangers involved. Trust me it's safer to be at Haulover before a storm watching storm surge than wading through water that has poured over from a canal feeding in from the Glades.
Think on it. Lived out in SW Miami.. I know.
