Tropical Storm Gert....on the horizon? Florence Remnants Yellow...still there.. Ernesto likes Mexico
So, it's pretty apparent that the NHC wants to upgrade Gert sometime today, possibly tomorrow. Maybe a Tropical Depression title and then probably Gert.
The Navy site has a track map... always a hint they are getting close to an upgrade. And, they bumped her up to 70% and dressed her in red for the occasion.
As Grandma Mary used to say, "Up and over the islands" and that is probably what this Cape Verde storm will do. Then, it's everyone's guess ...
Heard rumors New England might deal with a storm later next week.
Heard rumors Florence re-fires close in...
Heard rumors there are tropical storms on Mars and they make the possible areas of interest pink and purple rather than yellow and red...
Always rumors somewhere.
Here we deal with facts. Fact is the track map is up and am guessing they will up her to 80 or 90% on the 2pm and upgrade her at 5pm.....IF she continues to look good.
Meanwhile, Florence STILL has more convection, but alas no visible circulation and negative conditions. So, my question for today is.. What would happen if Florence, the storm that does not give up, were to hit a patch of warm water with neutral conditions?
Explain to me again why we are not worried on Florence? No, I won't let Florence go.. not until she is deader than a rabbit on a railroad track after the train has smashed it to smithereens.
I'll be back later as events unfold. For now...all eyes in Miami and Jax and Charleston are on the Invest known as 92 that will most likely be upgraded to Gert.
The wave off Africa is moving west... as is Ernesto.

Ps.... Bonus question. Why will 92 not go where Ernesto went before her? Possibly because of the influence of the remnants of Florence to her WNW.
