Hell for tropical waves.
In some years they both would have been upgraded and in other years not upgraded to a tropical depression or even used the name Beryl. It doesn't really matter as years ago the Invest project was kept relatively secret and not very public. We'd follow waves that became Invests and speak on them for hours debating development. Somewhere along the line the Invest program went public with lots of colorful graphics on TWC and all over the Internet. TV stations promoted watching to see what Invest 99L would do as it approaches the viewing area.
Bottom line is everyone knows they are there and there are dangers. Sadly, people also ignore the dangers of anything unless it has a name. Names are relevant.
Dangers lurk from the ongoing Rip Tide problems. Three young men died in Panama City, FL yesterday in Florida as they checked in to their vacation rental and ran out to take a swim and never came back. Rip Tides do not get names and the amount of rescues Friday and Saturday up and down the coast was off the charts from Florida to the Carolinas and maybe Virgiina, but I did not check on Virginia.
Heat kills faster than a hurricane that people prepare for and or evacuate and run away from and yet most people do not recognize the danger it presents. How people live in Phoenix year around is beyond me, but I guess like in Miami they stay in AC as much as possible.
Anyway nothing happening in the tropics for a while. If anything happens, it'll be a huge surprise to everyone and as NHC is always watching it won't be a total surprise.
Have a good, safe weekend and remember if you are out there shopping at your local favorite store, please pick up a little something extra for your hurricane kit. The busy hurricane season will begin when real hurricanes not naked swirls swirl across the Atlantic and Caribbean taking aim on cities in their path.
One of the deadliest hurricane seasons was 2017.
Didn't get going until the last week in August.
September Remember indeed.
That said I think July will have action somewhere.
Enjoy the rest of June.
Stay cool.
