First I'm discussing 26 aka Delta.
Then I'll discuss Gamma.

Potential Tropical Cyclone 26 Forms in the Carib.
Forecast to be a strong hurricane...
...up in the Gulf of Mexico.

NRL chart shows a bit more definition.
Cities in the path of the storm.
Size of storm itself.
Iconic NHC image below.

The NHC forecast this to be a 100 MPH Cane.

Models for what will be Delta.

Models currently show a basic track.

Time will tell what changes down the road.

Intensity below.

Being honest I've been offline the last two days so I'll do an update tomorrow morning. This is currently all about potential and the potential is there not just for Delta but for Delta to be a huge threat in the Gulf of Mexico as a sizeable storm in intensity and size on a classic track North. Will it bend more to the right down the road? It's possible the track will bend but for now we have to wait for a true center to develop and for the wrap of winds of Tropical Storm strength to begin after it becomes an official Tropical Depresssion. Obviously the NHC is concerned enough with the potetntial for trouble to hoist the early warnings.

Pay attention, stay tuned.

As for Tropical Storm Gamma.... Gamma is going where Gamma was forecast to go and it's a very typical cross the Yucatan and meander around type of storm for this time of year. Gamma is forecast to stay weak as Delta develops and becomes strong. Shear is there currently, as it gets crowded in the basin there will be more shear so worth remembering Gamma is there but the focus goes to Delta for long term concerns and landfall problems.

I'll update Monday.

Busy October in the tropics, as expected.
