UPDATED 50% Chances For Invest 90L Designated in the Atlantic with Circle .... West Coast Low & Storm Chasing Weekend
Late night update.
NHC bumped up Invest 90L chances a bit.
NHC bumped up Invest 90L chances a bit.
So carry on ... read on.
Will update Monday Morning.
Ps note that convection in the Caribbean.
Keeps flaring up.
Interesting.
* * *
It's hard to see but it's there.
Convection is congregating.
Models give it a slim life line of sorts.
Forming in a very busy area ...
...with less than optimal conditions.
But we briefly could get Andrea in May.
Subtropical Andrea likely but time will tell.
There's the Orange X.
Below is the area where formation could take place.
Again the term "short lived" is official.
Yet models take the system far.....
After the system merges with the strong front.
It catches a ride Eastbound out of town.
Staying low level intensity
Nothing to worry on other than....
...is this s quirk or a trend.
Is May the new June?
Note we will only know once the season gets rolling.
It's up on the NRL site where it's being sliced and diced.
Viewed through various levels of perspective.
Sure feels like the hurricane season is here.
Not officially but de facto yes indeed.
And this is the 2nd disturbance being monitored.
A long shot of sorts but possible.
We are talking about it.
Those of us not chasing out on the Plains.
Keep watching.
As for the chasing on the plains....
Big weekend.
Monday could also be a huge problem.
I know people talk on safety and etc etc
But I've chased and I know what it's like.
It's crazy wonderful on some levels.
Everything is happening in real time.
Unfolding wildly ... when it happens.
Reed Timmer knows more than most what he is doing.
Okay so he wanted to intercept it in the Dominator.
But pretty sure he's over the top excited how it went down.
Usually chasing can be mostly waiting....
Hurricanes are going as you know where the storm will be.
Where the worst part of the hurricane will likely be.
Out on the plains you have a large area with potential.
A lot easier pinning down where the eye will be in a hurricane.
Than which town gets a tornado to spin up suddenly.
I'm a weather person.
I'm not going to apologize for loving weather.
A big difference between trained professionals.....
.. and kids out watching for trouble.
Knowledge is power.
If you want to chase.... take meteorology classes.
Learn from the best who mentor you....
We are always learning.
I'm sure Reed will find his red hat....
...same way Mike found his umbrella.
Okay.. maybe... not sure.
Maybe next time put a GFS device in it just in case.
Happens ;)
Stay tuned.
I'll update in real time if anything changes.
