It Begins... Birth of the 2014 Hurricane Season. EPAC Depression ONE-E Forms... Could it be Amanda?

It begins. The images of above is the birth of the Tropical Season in the Pacific...

The first tropical depression of the Eastern Pacific formed Thursday evening. #1 AKA ONE-E

Makes sense when you look at the global hazards map for the next two weeks...falls right inside that pocket.

2 things worth noting in our basin...
#1 Check out the area to the north of Hispaniola beginning to show signs of a twist
where the stalled out frontal boundary has been hanging out... and notice on the Western side
of that frontal boundary... also the smallest hint of a twist.
Hmnnnn.......

#2  And............wow look at that warm pool of water in the Gulf of Mexico

#2  And............wow look at that warm pool of water in the Caribbean..
oozing it's way up towards the Gulf of Mexico..

GFS model as well as others has been consistently developing a system in the Western Caribbean that would...could... move north into the GOM towards FL. That connects with the image above showing heat energy potential. It's just potential right now but... check back in about a week's time or less.

Something to watch.......

Far out............long range modeling.......it's whispering "The Atlantic Hurricane Season is almost here..."

Stay tuned.. more tomorrow on what could become Tropical Storm Amanda in the Pacific.

Ps... a friend sent me this song tonight. Great song... relax, close your eyes and watch the spin...
