Tropical Storm Gert....another tropical storm.. no hurricanes...just tropical storms...

It's beginning to remind me of that old song "yes we have no bananas, we have no bananas today" got lots of depressions and tropical storms but ... well you get the idea.

It's not like I need to show a picture, she looks a lot like the rest of them. There, simply there. And, now all the waves in the far Atlantic that were there are not there. I could understand if this was an El Nino season, but supposedly it's not so ... what's up doc?

I could wax poetic about dry air, minimally dry but dry air in the Atlantic and storms being unable to stack themselves well and ventilate and maintain convection and spin... does it really matter? We are well into the G name and ain't got no hurricanes.

We DO however have rain in New York City. Oh my gosh so much rain... It started raining last night with a wild, summer thunderstorm and has not let up all day. It's still raining. We broke an all time record for rainfall today.

In the "Meyer" household the rain caused a change in plans for the family party from the Grecian Pavilion in Prospect Park to a good friend's house where we all gathered, hung out, partied and enjoyed life. Inside the mood was warm and fuzzy, outside it rained and rained and rained.

Maybe it's the Mercury Retrograde this month or some financial economic problem Mother Nature is dealing with that has led to cut backs in the Hurricane department, maybe we are only allowed Tropical Storms?

Nah...we will have hurricanes, just not sure when.

However in New York there is plenty of moisture.
