No The Weather Channel is WRONG... the East Atlantic is NOT Dead...Beautiful Wave with ORANGE Circle

Orange... and here's the wide open view of our wave that many think *may* become Ana, a real may... nothing is set in stone this year without named storms...

up close and personal

1... Yes I still watch The Weather Channel and yes their video of the hotel falling into the sea in Taiwan is awesome, usually Steve Lyons is good these days but to say there is NOTHING going on in the Atlantic while a big, beautiful wave is winking back over his shoulder is just wrong.

2...There is a beautiful wave with a long tail and preliminary banding traits that has come off Africa, another wave behind it is almost progged to possibly develop. The GFS and other models have jumped on this wave when they refused to even blink at earlier waves and have brought it across the Atlantic and developed it. That is nothing to sneeze at.

3... Strong El Nino with something deviously sneaky called a "Walker Cell" has helped huff and puff and blow the tops off of our waves before they could even get a yellow circle yet alone an orange one.

Supposedly.... this wave can go head to head with the Walker Cell.. time will tell..

I don't know...that Walker Cell is one mean son of a gun..

BUT.......................

Time will tell and we will watch the NHC for every drop of innuendo in their updates and see if Steve Lyons can get his very smart, analytical head back into the Atlantic Basin and we will see if the models hold onto it or drop it like a cold, El Nino potato!!

In North Carolina it is supposed to be hot today, heat warnings are up and people are being told to lay low and stay cool, drink water! In Miami my best friend has told me it is hot, hot and hotter and just seems like 1992... and everyone's nerves are on edge wondering when the tropical pot is finally going to boil.

Climo says now... and astrologically speaking (i am going out on a long limb here) the last half of September could be a meteorological active period not just because of climo but because the Sun will be in Virgo conjunct Mercury and Saturn in Virgo and opposite Uranus in Pisces. Haven't really looked at August as I am busy but the last week in August calls for Mercury in Libra square Mars in Cancer in a tight T square with Pluto in Capricorn. Early weather predictions were often amazingly accurate in the long term and they used astrological formulas. As for Benjamin Franklin, that is another blog for another day. I am always amused though to look BACK at major weather outbreaks and to see how ancient formulas often work out. In the 1992 Almanac in a year that was slow beyond words... the Almanac hit Andrew almost on the head for a Hurricane Threat in Florida, pretty amazing. But ..then Earth Science is ALWAYS amazing...be it meteorology, oceanography and yes my friend geology!

Chow for Now, Bobbi

Ps... Ana might just be a dream in trackers eyes or she may be the real thing waiting for a name off of Africa! Have a great Sunday and DRINK WATER.. wherever you are as it is going to be a hot one across most of the land..
