Tropical Depression 17 Forms in the SW Carib

Yup, it's coming together rather nicely. Actually, looks better than many of the named systems earlier this year. Has nice cloud cover, a high pressure developing over it which means it has near perfect conditions to develop in the short term.

Sort of go for lift off...

Planes went in and found a nice low level center and low pressure and upgraded it to TD 17. It is safe to say this WILL become Tropical Storm Paloma and in fact some models develop it into a Hurricane that will move towards Cuba and the Atlantic Ocean beyond.

Loop the loop... che!ck it out for yourself

This is an image from the GFDL model for 108 hours away. Timing is everything and some feel the models are moving it through the Carib too fast whereas others feel they are moving to slow.

Everything is timing in life.. everything. Move to the right town, right place..right time. Falling in love. Running for office. Starting a diet or taking on a new job or project. Everything is in the timing.

This storm, Tropical Depression #17, is in the right place at the right time for some good old fashioned rapid development and she will be Paloma within the next 24 hours if not later this evening.

Stay tuned... things will get compelling sooner rather than later it seems if the experts are right.

Paloma... wearing her fall colors here..

So, when will that front come down and lift her out again? Keep watching.. it's all in the timing ;)

Will update as the storm develops and when the NHC upgrades!

Note.. squall line with tornadoes currently headed from Oklahoma towards Kansas City and a blizzard out west and a storm system off the Mid-Atlantic... we got weather gang, real weather forming tonight!
