Election Tuesday...Is Tropical Storm Paloma Forming? Too Close to Call So Far...

Well... it's looking good. Has maintained color all day and has a twist visible on quikscat and other satellite imagery.

It's track would take it to the NE and close to Florida though it should stay south. A lot depends on the cold front expected to come down that would.. pull it further to the north than it would otherwise .. but that's November.

You loop and decide.

TWC did a Tropical Update this evening which is rare as they have barely mentioned the tropics. The P storm in the Epac Polo was shown first and they mentioned that Paloma may be forming in the Carib.

The NHC has not gone red but has upped it's chances of forming and insists that a Tropical Depression may be forming.

We'll see.. would be sad for Cuba to have to deal with another system this year. Then again it's sad Cuba has to deal with one Castro after another isn't it? Like to see some "CHANGE" in Cuba but they can't vote in open elections like we can and as much as we bitch and complain about broken machines and long lines it is still the best system around and we should be happy we turn over power in this manner and not the way many countries do around the Globe.

So... keep watching.

As for me.. I went out in search of a big screen TV with satellite News at lunch and found myself at Kafka's Bookstore that features books, Internet access, incredible coffee and a large screen TV set to MSNBC. Had a snack and watched some election news during lunch. Except for a few Obama workers riding the Beach Shuttle and giving out leaflets you could barely tell there was an election. Gray quiet morning, empty streets with little traffic and people wandering in and out of Starbucks for their free cup of brew.

Stay tuned... the race down in the Carib is still too close to call but think it is possible Paloma may pull this one out!

Chow for Now.. Bobbi

Ps... MoveOn.Org was nice enough to send me an Obama 08 pin that just arrived today. Isn't that like a little late? Thanks Rob... great, really great.. nice memento of the 2008 Election though .. have always loved memorabilia. I wanted that McCain Notebook on the recyclable paper.. maybe I can get a few real cheap tomorrow morning ;)
