Tropical Storm Edouard Makes Landfall in Texas

Just east of the Houston area near Sabine Pass, some bayou town will get the actual point on the map but time doesn't permit me to go further into details.

Suffice it to say it is a minimal Tropical Storm, officially "near 65 mph" though I doubt anyone will see anything but gusts in the 60s. Higher winds in brief bands circling around a small center than should fall apart and move inland providing much needed tropical rain.

You know Edouard is the best example of why we should love tropical weather. Aside from some people who will lose power and traffic annoyances (yes people drive in storms like this) it will provide a drought stricken region with much needed tropical rain that would not have been delivered any other way.

The majority of tropical weather on the Hurricane Buffet are storms like this. Rarely do we get the big intense majors and often they stay out at sea.

Got to give it to the Abrams gal on TWC. A great Miami girl! I am sure she rooted for the Fins year after year and stayed a loyal fan even when they disappointed her. Been a long time since I saw someone cover so little with little hype, honesty and a passion for weather of any kind... even a few strong gusts in passing bands when they hit! Yup, I can see her cheering the Dolphins along during dismal seasons waiting for that one big year when we blow the Jets out of the water :)

Oh.. speaking of jets.. Continental has flight delays and has canceled some flights out of their hub in Houston. Try Bubbas... nice food and drinks while you wait for your flight to be back up in the sky.

Chow for now, Bobbi
Ps...my one curious question here is did Joe Bastardi get some in Texas??
