July 4th, Tracking Tropical Storm Bertha

This is going to be short as Shabbos is coming and so is one wild thunderstorm and need to shut down the computer soon.

Picked this picture for the red, white and blue of it.. enjoy.

Quick thoughts on Bertha are that the NHC has pulled the track further and further to the west or south or however you put it... it's getting closer and closer to our side of the world and smelling less fishy. Easy to say this will re-curve out to sea as so many do however that's one big Bermuda High that I believe is going to build in and the door to a fast re-curvature is closing rapidly. Eventually... a front will come down and well... just have to keep watching won't we?

From the NHC Discussion:

"AS THE STORM REMAINS SOUTH OF A MID-TROPOSPHERIC RIDGE.
THE GFDL TRACK HAS NOW SHIFTED WESTWARD AND HAS JOINED THE REMAINDER
OF THE MODEL GUIDANCE.."

Other areas to think on for possible development are off the coast of Central America has been a consistent area of convection with signs of some sort of outflow that could develop despite it's proximity to land.

Check out www.hurricanecity.com for Jim's tropical updates and stay tuned to the best and the brightest at the Hurricane Center who are tracking this storm for you round the clock, even on holidays!

Looks much more west than yesterday.

Have a beautiful, happy July 4th... as for me we are having BBQ Chicken with Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Babaganush, Chummus and all of the regular Shabbos suspects!

Besos Bobbi on the 4th of July!
