On the Verge of Tropical Depression Status
It's arguably on the verge of being a Tropical Storm but being conservative here. Who says? Well that controversial satellite from last year that took the snapshot above showing a very tightly wound, closed, circulation.
It is an organized area of convection with steady winds, circulation and it's traveling en mass westbound. If this doesn't make it a Tropical Depression I don't know what would.
The designation isn't supposed to be connected with proximity to land. I mean it is or it isn't. It's a scientific fact here.
If this was 36 hours away from landfall at Galveston it would be Bertha by now but because it's all the way across the ocean off of Africa we wait a little longer and we have time...
We do have time but we have a very large, intense storm that as Steve Lyons pointed out last night at TWC we have been tracking it since it rolled across East Africa. Now it's in the Atlantic Ocean and it's on our tracking maps.
It's sort of what people say now days.. it is what it is and or just "deal with it" which is what they are doing by tracking it.
A far away, distant but compelling reminder we are well into the Atlantic Hurricane Season. Make a plan, buy some supplies and store them away and enjoy your holiday weekend because darlings... this is going to be a season you are going to need them!
Who says? The B Storm :) Bobbi for now and Bertha later today may be looking your way. Probably will go re-curve out to sea but will Dolly?
Besos Bobbi ;)
(this isn't about hype.. it simply is about dealing with what's on the map)
