Wide View of Cape Verde Tropical Wave

Beautiful, big perfect tropical wave sitting there on the edge of Africa like it's sitting on the ledge and trying to figure out which way to swim.

Keep watching. We are all watching. Dissecting and watching and trying to figure it all out. Look at the banding below, tight storm for this early off of Africa. Wondering when they will upgrade it to a depression?

Models take it westish and others take it more to the NW and NNW.

One thing to remember is that this is an out of season Cape Verde storm in ways and hard to compare to a storm that forms on August 1 as the synoptics and variables are different. The water would be warmer on August 1st helping it to intensify faster. One example. Dust is out there as it usually is this time of year and that can make it grow slower or weaken a bit on the north side leaving it a bit bottom heavy with time. Many variables and not sure how perfectly the models will handle the storm for few days.

It is also a very large storm and they usually take longer to intensify. The faster it intensifies (if it does) the faster it would be pulled north. Til then it will be westward bound.

Here's a newly run model. Yes, I know it's the Canadian but as my daughter now living in Ottawa reminds me it is Canadian Day there so... here goes:

When I look at this picture it reminds me of that great song "Got the Whole World in His Hands.."

Be back later.. enjoy the clip and sing along..
