A Look at the Tropical Basins...... 18 Days Til Hurricane Season

Keeping this short today as I am short on time. This loop above really shows the story. While there is color in the EPAC and a low level wave like complex trying to get across the Atlantic there is nothing expected in the short term. That doesn't mean there isn't weather as there are always flare ups in the Islands of heavy rain. That said the heavy rain Florida finally got has moved on and hopefully the upper level low that's been stuck will move on as well.

This is a moving on pattern in the tropics. There's a low rearranging of the HIGH in the Atlantic and a slow set up of stormy weather leaving Africa at low latitudes much like a player who gets into the Minors and is not ready for time yet in the Majors but a process has begun. We are moving on into Hurricane Season day by day.

And, there's a strong wind flow shearing the clouds off the clusters of convection from the EPAC and everywhere else for now.

That will change.

This period in May is all about change. 18 days til Hurricane Season!

It's that simple....so you do what you have to do and see if you know where your phone battery packs are and by some batteries. Always good to have a battery operated radio and/or crank kind as if you don't have a generator and the power goes out there's a limit to how long your phone will work and how long your batteries will last. You might think "hey I can sit out in the car and charge my phone" and all I will say is good luck with that. Ask your neighbors who have been thru hurricanes if you are new to the area and get some tips from them. Wisdom is knowledge.
