2016 Hurricane Season? Are You Ready? The Media is Trying to Get You Ready...

We are beginning to kick into high gear hurricane wise as we are less than month away from the start of the Atlantic Hurricane Season. That means many sites online are beginning to ramp up faster than an Early Cape Verde Wave as it rolls off the coast before it succumbs to the reality of the water is still too cold for it to develop. But hey it's the way we roll...

Jim Williams will release his predictions for cities most likely to be hit..
..on May 15th.

Jim is a big believer in where they go is more important than how many.
I agree. It's more about location than a numbers game.
Love this graphic he has up on his page ...

http://www.hurricanecity.com/hurricanehits.htm
Lots of good information on that page and on his site.
As you gear up for the season it's a good place to start.

Yes this is the Pre-Season of the Hurricane Season.

You know what I mean if you live in Hurricane Country. The other day they had their first graphics up on the news on WRAL in Raleigh discussing the various Hurricane Predictions for this coming year and showing old footage from the bridge to the Outer Banks in what could be any Category 1 Hurricane off shore ... making the water in Pamlico Sound really choppy. You know that stock footage of people evacuating Houston during Hurricane Rita with a big graphic super imposed "Do You Know Your Evacuation Routes?"

I know you know what I mean....

The good part of this is the Internet coming alive with a lot of good information.
And then we sit and wait for the first storm.

Well this year is DIFFERENT.
Why is this year different from all the other years?
Because we already had the first storm....
So this year we wait for the 2nd storm to form...
Bonnie.

Crown Weather has begun talking tropics.
Another sign we are getting closer to prime time.

I go online and I noticed I'm checking Spaghetti Models more often.
In fact I'm on election overload so I find myself watching TWC...

My arrows high light what I'm wondering on...
That being the still steady flow of frontal boundaries...
...dying out across the Gulf of Mexico and Florida.
The flare up of convection near the Yucatan.
Signs and signals we are moving closer to Hurricane Season.

Generally TWC begins showing old footage mixed with What IF scenarios.
It's Pre-Season Hype.
But it's real hype.
You know that line in Breakfast atTiffany??
"She's a real phony"
It's a good scene.
Watch it.
You learn a lot.
Truman Capote one of the best dark, real writers...
...inspires the Great American Romance Movie.

Breakfast at Tiffany premiered on October 5, 1961.
Note his name is O. J. Hmnnnn
You got to love this script.
He explains how he takes a girl from the Ozarks...
...and makes her into Holly Golightly.
He gives her speech lessons.
A few years later she plays Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady.
If you haven't seen My Fair Lady .....
.....it's Pretty Woman in England a long time ago.

Movies come and go but there are always hurricanes!
Wonder what movie will be on top come this hurricane season...

This is how we roll here...
Weather .. music.. movies... life.

Just showing the links here  to real ...
On October 5th, 1961 Hurricane Frances was on the maps.
(Was there ever a Hurricane Holly??)

The Hurricane Season begins June 1st, 2016.
The Hurricane Season ends on November 30, 2016.
The 2016 Hurricane Season unofficially began on January 13th, 2016.
You can't make this stuff up.
Perhaps as in politics this year.....
...this Hurricane Season will be filled with quirky storms breaking all the rules.

Will Bonnie be a Hurricane or just a mere Tropical Storm?
Will Bonnie be photogenic?
Only time will tell.....stay tuned...
