Winter Storm Hercules or #snowpocolypse?? NFL Playoffs Fall Victim to Hercules?
So, I was minding my own business talking to my daughter who lives in NY and suddenly this showed up on my computer.
http://www.google.org/publicalerts/alert?aid=3e021bc7f8c94de0&hl=en
Google is beginning to annoy me. Mostly their change over of the way things work on Youtube has really annoyed me. Being honest. They are beginning to take the "fun" out of life in ways. Trying to ignore it. Yes, I love the weather but it's as if it's trying to read my mind nonstop and well to be honest I have stalkers who already excel at that job.. do I really need Google talking at me as if it is a parent and I am 16 years old again?
I mean if it knew me so well it would know I was watching TWC's current coverage of HERCULES with Jim Cantore on the scene in Boston.

I heard a rumor that Stephanie Abrams will be in NY...
What will be a massive mess for many in the path of this latest winter storm will be a ratings winner on TWC as they have now gone back to full coverage of weather and putting the taped segments in the can for the time being.
You can follow this storm by another handle... #snowpocolypse on Twitter.
"We are all kind of waiting for that coastal low to set up" over heard on TWC..
Hercules like most Winter Storms forms in real time and until he decides to where to set up shop we won't know for sure what the morning snow totals will be or who gets the worst out of this storm.
In the Hurricane Business we have to be right 5 days out ... when it comes to Winter Storms five hours before it begins to snow we aren't sure how bad it will really be.
Meanwhile the first victim of this storm seems to have been the NFL Playoffs. It seems that the fans really don't want to sit in sub-zero weather to watch the games in person. Hmnnn... The NFL has issued extensions to their rule about games being sold out in advance of kick off. They are giving them more time to sell the tickets. Note..Carolina sold out the first day.

One wonders if they would have sold out if Brett Favre was playing in his hey day...

A great new loop is up on www.spaghettimodels.com that shows us a forecast model of how this storm should play out..
Here's another forecast for snow coverage
And... here is the world the way it is currently...
Note the Arctic Front dips down.......the warm, wet moisture from the GOM feeds up into the cold, cold heart of Hercules and snow forms...and falls back to earth. See how everything flows in this world. It's not just about a very cold area of weather.. it's about moisture and air currents and a mixing of the two entities throughout the many layers of the atmosphere and as always in life and love it's all about timing and being in the right place.
Another image...a current image.
This Hercules may not be anything to laugh at and many are making big fun of TWC for it's naming of Winter Storms that is more about ratings than anything else.
Only time will tell how this weather drama plays out... read through the list below as it's a good list for everyone who may experience severe winter weather later this winter..
Besos Bobbi
Ps... never knew Hercules had red hair... really? Hmnnnn

- Before winter approaches, add the following supplies to your emergency kit:
- Rock salt or more environmentally safe products to melt ice on walkways. Visit the Environmental Protection Agency for a complete list of recommended products.
- Sand to improve traction.
- Snow shovels and other snow removal equipment.
- Sufficient heating fuel. You may become isolated in your home and regular fuel sources may be cut off. Store a good supply of dry, seasoned wood for your fireplace or wood-burning stove.
- Adequate clothing and blankets to keep you warm.
- More about:
- What to do before winter storms and extreme cold.
- Avoid overexertion when shoveling snow. Overexertion can bring on a heart attack - a major cause of death in the winter. If you must shovel snow, stretch before going outside.
- Keep dry. Change wet clothing frequently to prevent a loss of body heat. Wet clothing loses all of its insulating value and transmits heat rapidly.
- Watch for signs of frostbite. These include loss of feeling and white or pale appearance in extremities such as fingers, toes, ear lobes, and the tip of the nose. If symptoms are detected, get medical help immediately.
- Conserve fuel, if necessary, by keeping your residence cooler than normal. Temporarily close off heat to some rooms.
