Lots of Invests but No Named Storms.

Short update to say that while there are possibilities nothing is set in stone. Possibilities and options are the menu for Invest 91, 92 and whatever numbers come out of this set of early August waves. I've heard reasons 91L actually is more of a problem than 92 and I've heard people say 92 is a problem but ...and the REAL problem is it's early August and no matter how good they look on a specific model run until one center takes control and begins to spin it's all talk and nothing more.

Pretty much anything can happen here.
Westbound and then what?
Time will tell.
Give it a day or two to be sure.

Talk is cheap and it appears waves coming off of Africa won't cut the mustard until one comes off with a good, healthy LOW pressure system attached to it and it's spinning. When it's September any wave coming off needs to be watched but in August it needs to have a spin. That's my opinion and though some of them look sexy and put together they aren't spinning yet. And, finding a grove in the  middle of the Atlantic that's set to simmer but isn't really cooking isn't going to do it.

The good and bad of this is no wave develops fast and curves out to sea and swims away. The longer a wave stays on the map as a potential player the easier it is for it to spin up close in and become a problem suddenly on our side of the world. Something to think on while having a good weekend and enjoying August.

I'm in the Monsey area of New York State as my daughter was released from the hospital and is working with physical therapists to get herself back together. Doing whatever I can to help and watching life from a different point of perspective than Raleigh or Miami. Trees are turning colors here early, very early as my husband is from this region and he said they are weeks ahead of what is normal for leaves to turn. It's not just one tree there are whole trees that have turned orange. It really makes you wonder how fast the Hurricane Season will turn the heat on and how fast cold fronts will be cold agaiin as I do believe La Nina is coming in some fashion and this winter should be as wintry as last if not more.

More on Sunday when I have more time.

Keep watching the waves but if and when something develops it's not going to be Donna rolling off the coast taking down a plane managing to hit Florida twice and take aim at the Mid Atlantic. Hurricanes like Donna and Camille don't come along every year but some hurricane this year will be one for the history books; it's just a matter of time.
