Torrential Tropical Rain and Flooding

Rain is good when you need to break a drought. It's not good when it floods city streets and cars float downstream..

I'm wondering if this tropical flow out of the Gulf of Mexico will translate down the road to a landfalling tropical system later this Hurricane Season.

I've been wondering on this for a while. It seems to be a pattern that has persisted for way too long and it would be normal to have a early June storm form in that region and move inland.

Watch two things here:

One the moisture flow that created the flooding in the Florida Panhandle today... and two watch how the ITZ begins to lift further to the north near Africa. Both worth noting.

It would be very within the realm of climatological patterns for such a system to form. So, keep watching...

Low potential shown here, but potential none the less.
