Miami Weather Radio Mentions Tropical Storm Force Winds From Hanna

Listening to the weather radio after an unreal delicious dinner my boyfriend cooked me. Yum, yum... And, while I am digesting lamb, sweet potatoes and summer squash I notice the weather radio in Miami for the short term forecast mentions "Tropical Storm force winds possible" and somehow it all seems so much more real.

Hear it on the Weather Radio and that's real, in your face. The nightly news always seems like hype. The Weather Channel is playing commercials for "as Hurricane Hanna barrels towards the ..." and message boards are filled with wish casters wishing her into their particular town.

The Weather Radio is like REAL, not a paid political announcement...

Got an email from a friend in high places who said he thinks we could get some tropical storm force winds. He rarely emails out things like that, perhaps he heard it on the weather radio too!

Worried a bit that if Hanna turns out to be nothing much to write home about people could take Ike too lightly. Ike it seems is the storm that could and I highlight the word *could* become a major storm.

Special Weather Statement in Miami.

"All interests in South Florida should closely monitor... " and it goes on to say it should bring tropical storm force winds to the marine area and highlights West Palm Beach before mentioning all 3 counties.

Okie dokie... am going to my son's condo loft by the water, gonna feel the wind, maybe take a swim, have a drink and try to stay away from the computer until the 11pm.

Oh... says also High Pressure will stay in control over the South Florida area until Wednesday................
