Snow?? How Much??? or...ICE STORM? Everyone's Talking .... What Will It Be for the Carolinas.... Oklahoma.... And Everywhere in Between...

Note he yells a lot...raises his voice and points with his finger and my husband who is an Aries and loves action movies paid attention when I showed him the video Dina shared with me on Instagram about the Winter Storm I have been telling him about for the last few days.......but he looked up, interested and said all excited so "I could live through the two worst snow storms in recent memories in the Triangle" and asked me if we are going shopping Thursday or (with a giggle) Wednesday?"  It's a good thing I have a sense of humor.......

Different strokes for different folks. We are a large community and the main point is people get the message out in time for people to prepare and that they are aware the models could change and in what I call RDU land nothing is for sure until the flakes start falling.

Sure thing Winter Storms in the Raleigh area have gone before my eyes into a melted puddle of sleet that fell for a bit before a bit of snow and there was nothing left on the shelves at Harris Teeter as everyone was sure the Winter Hurricane was hitting. And some of our worst snow storms overproduced and the on air meteorologists said "oh well sometimes the forecast is a bust" and well they do help stimulate the economy.

That said I do believe we will get some sort of Winter Storm I am just not sure which type of Winter Storm we will see.

As for me I watched Mitch on YouTube

Read a 100 posts that all said the same thing.

"OH MY GOD NC GETTING 20 INCHES OF SNOW"

or 

"I think it's shifting to the South........"

or

"It's shifting to the North...."

As a girl from Miami who knows Hurricanes I had to give up the illusion of control when I moved to North Carolina and found out that Winter Storms here are tricky and often form within a day or so and even when they progress from the West to the East from Oklahoma to Tennessee to North Carolina" what we get is often not what we expected. Sleet lowers total inches. Snow increases the inches we get. ICE is feared in these parts tho I always want to see Ice because it's rare and something I never saw in Miami nor when I lived in LA nor when I went to school in Brooklyn. A real ICE STORM for some is like the Holy Grail here and for others the absolute worst. Often forecast, rarely does it verify and rarely do we get enough Ice to make a difference. This storm may make a huge difference, prepare in case of power outages.

I respect a lot of Mets in the Raleigh area.

Allan Huffman is my Go To for Storms.

Snow Storms and Hurricanes.

Chick is awesome in the Sandhills....

Allan Huffman does not hype.

Allan Huffman does not say:

"could be catastrophic" where there's ICE

And yes weather in the teens AFTER the storm.

So

Make a list.

Check it twice.

Mother Nature may be naughty not nice.

She might be bringing ICE

Or HEAVY DEEP SNOW

And if you know you know...

Winter Storm forecasts in the Carolinas...

...are often heart breakers for Snow Lovers.

Now I know how to get his attention HAHAHA!!!
