Warm Weather Today.... But Popsicle Toes for New Years Eve.... 2026 Welcomes Winter Back! Senor El Nino ... Ask California They Know.... EnJOY the Weather.... It Changes Fast!

I'm into being "happy" and enJOYing the weather here.

In Raleigh..... on the warm side.

Tho not OMG Hot!

Thawing out from last week's cold temps.

I knew I was missing in action here doing things, didn't realize it had been so long since I blogged until I came on to blog this morning. A week without blogging, my gosh that's rare for me. Been busy. But, I am back now even though there's no real weather in my part of the world to talk on .....other than a pleasant warm up after last week's frigid Arctic Plunge. My toes were so frozen inside lined, normally warm, boots. Yes, I actually wore a coat and it was over the hoodie. So excuse me if I don't get on board the Pitty Party about the warmer temperatures in this part of the Carolinas. I spent most of my life in warm weather for "the holidays" it's not the end of the world. What is really, really annoying is having frigid temperatures and no snow. If it's gonna be that cold.... I want snow otherwise warmer weather is not so horrible. And, the warm up is not going to be as long as the hypesters online have been hyping. What goes up, comes down fast in Raleigh in the Winter.

In fact, it's been my experience in the Carolinas that when we zoom up to 70 degrees in late December within ten days or so it snows or delivers some sort of Wintry Punch and every weather person on air waxes poetic that "just the other day it was in the 70s and now............" it's either in the teens or snowing or sleeting or there's a possibility of ice. I may paint my toes some tropical color today and take out the sandals to walk about as if I am daring Mother Nature to hit me with her best shot of winter weather for my birthday next week!

Long range forecasts can and do change ...

It's good to learn how to roll with the punches...

...or in this case the temperature.

My feeling on this roller coaster ride called "Winter Came Early" is that when Winter comes early, we usually have an early January Thaw in late December and everyone freaks out but it's really an early January Thaw! And, as I expected it's going to be very cold AFTER Christmas .... we are back on the down slope of the merry go round of the 2025-2026 Arctic Plunging Merry Go Round! Then the headlines rant on how we are going into 2026 with Freezing Temperatures!!

Why the official agencies have to wait forever to announce something that is already here is beyond me. It's like Covid... remember when? Everyone had it, the world was shut down and people argued over whether to call it Corona or Covid yet the World Health Organization waited and waited to say there was actually an epidemic?  Oh wow... "breaking news" (no not really) and as for Senor El Nino he is definitely here and not in hiding and if you have any questions check out the weather on the West Coast this year!
