Saturday Night Tropical Update.... Atlantic Quiet. Fungwong Raging Not So Quiet in the Pacific! Big Freeze Coming So the Models Say..

 

Random Thunderstorm in Raleigh

Pretty clear signal that season is ending.

Doesn't mean models don't fetch something.

Everything & anything is compressed to the South.

We watch with few expectations....

....but never say never in 2025.

Looking forward to how cold the cold is in reality compared to the modeling. Call it a very early test of the models and how they do forecasting a possible freeze in my area of North Carolina. That said I'll probably miss the Big Chill as I have to go out of town for a few days. Looking at Earthnull below all I can think is "someone left the door open to the North Pole there" but not really December cold but still a lot of people going to be cold all the way down to Florida.

As for @iCyclone on the other side of the world he's using this storm as a good lesson on never get too close to the waves. Fairly sure all of us have had something like that happened, tho in my case I wasn't bruised as much as picking sand out from every part of my body for days after even though I showered twice. Waves can really churn up the sand. I mean I don't think I was bruised if I was it was secondary to the fact the I was thrilled I threw the camera back onto the beach far enough that the film could be developed as the wave was hitting.

But that must have been a real wow moment. Insert whatever curse words you use and guess he didn't see that coming. Seems there were some steps there leading down to the beach...hard to see but if you watch it on X you'll see. This is the as it happened shot.

Sure after that he's being real careful.

Right?

That's one heck of a storm.

So... I gotta go to sleep.

I have a confession to make...

...I was young.

A song came on...

..a surfer song.

And this cute boy turned the chair around

and used the back of the chair like it was drums

Stradling the chair like a horse

But as a surfer drummer...

...not a cowboy!

I smiled. 

Always remember it when I hear this intro....

...I also wonder where was the teacher?

We had way too much alone time :)

Life takes us funny places....

...but a good memory is forever.
