Shades of Yellow. Area Hugging the South American Coastline....EPAC 40% .... Plot Twist Down the Road for the GOM?
Still yellow but not all yellow is the same.
There are many shades of yellow.
Leaving the link below to explain this....
.... wonderful blog on color I found.
You see all yellow circles are not equal.
Today ours is 10%
Down from 30% the other day.
The NHC only has one yellow crayon...
But the NHC has lost patience with it.
Black and white always shows great contrast.
In the EPAC we are shades of orange.
40% chances.
The drama here really is that it's still early in the season and systems are slower to come together than they are when they are cruising across high octane fuel with water temperatures near 90 degrees. It's a short hop into the EPAC for our Yellow Mister and that could happen. The idea of anything moving NW out of the SW Caribbean in June is less likely to happen though it has over time. Often areas try crossing over from the EPAC to that thin area in Mexico where they try to make the trip and sometimes do. Tropical energy is like money it doesn't dry up it simply moves somewhere else. Eventually if the environment is friendly we could get something going and that "could" is a system in the Gulf of Mexico.
The Canadian joined the party last night and also dumped a tropical system into the Gulf of Mexico as did the GFS and EURO; so far the Icon is not playing well with the others doing it's own thing.
Bottomline?
There's a strong high owning the Atlantic. There is a fairly closed off area in the SW Carib cradled down there near Panama and Colombia. There's an area hugging the Southern coast of Central America in the Pacific that could aid, help or trigger an area in the BOC that would move up into the Gulf of Mexico. It's possible, but not probable that our yellow circle maintains it's own integrity and waits out the mess in the EPAC. Models have been messy and slow .... like watching paint dry and Jim Williams always teases me not to watch the pot waiting for it to boil. So I'm going to leave you with this thought...
Something may develop down the tropical road in the Gulf of Mexico. By later this weekend we will see what colors we are dealing with be they lemon meringue or butterscotch but til then it's a wait and see process. If you want to watch the pot waiting for it to boil, then do so (as I have done many times and he's wrong eventually it will boil whether you watch it or not) and or run models but whatever you do have a wonderful day!
Also watch your local weather, yesterday brought wild storms to NYC and today an area in Alabama and Tennessee will be moving East slowly triggering up thunderstorms. And, where thunderstorms go flash flooding can follow be it the Deep South or along the river in New York City.
